Lenas for lunch

Met up with my twinnie (Hui Ying) and yushu on Sunday for a short catch-up over lunch ystd. Sorry girls that we can't go to town or somewhere further because I am just so lazy and not well to travel :(

After deciding where to eat for quite some time, we decided to head to Lenas! It was my first time there and I heard quite a bit of compliments for the food there but was so disappointed. Here is what we had ordered...

Twinnie's salmon cream pasta which is too creamy and salty

Yushu's BBQ Chicken with fries which is just normal

And my ham and onion spicy aglio olio which doesn't taste like aglio olio and its even the chef's recommendation...

It's not worth it to pay like 16 bucks for the pasta which they probably use a lot of salt to make it tastable. I prefer Goemon's pasta more than this! And the portion is a lil too small for me, was still hungry after finishing the whole plate.

But what's perfect is that we can sit and chat comfortably there and some photos taken! Most of the clearer photos are taken from Erich's HTC phone. The images are way too clear compared to iphone's quality *jealous*

We found this picture v cute cos we are trying to 自拍 with Erich's phone but dk where to look.

With our pasta~ I know I know we always take photos tgt with food hahaha!

No Erich inside because he simply dislikes taking photos!

This was our simple lunch and I still love short meet-ups like this :) xx

CNY 2013`

It's way too lag to blog about this year's CNY, but oh well, I just started this blog!

Every year, I look forward to cny cos its the best time to feast and to gather with relatives although I am v lucky and I get to do so every weekend. It is also an excuse to spend on clothes and go on shopping sprees :P It is also the time when my mother will be busy baking her pineapple tarts, egg rolls, cookies and many moree..... I am just v lucky who has a mum who can cook and bake v well hehe

This year is going to be the last cny that my grandfather is going to be around with us. He usually stands behind us to teach us mahjong or to even play together with us... :(

For the past few years, we have been rushing from one reunion dinner(maternal side) to another(paternal side) during cny's eve. So lucky to be eating TWO dinners. However, this year I followed my mum to her side for dinner while my brother followed my dad. So, I get to enjoy the full 9 meal course :)

This was some of the dishes we had at The Cathay restaurant located near Dhoby Ghaut MRT. The food there is really awesome! It was very crowded and there was still people queuing up even at 9pm!!

The menu

Photos taken with all my lovely cousies on cny eve :>

大年初一 (DAY 1)

OOTD+make-up with no edit (my face looked SUPER ROUND)

My pretty cousins

Plus some of the guys..

And our yearly photo taking affair, had to squeeze everyone in! And, if you realize, the red thing is the container I totally was too panicky to fit everyone in till I didn't notice :(

After the whole extended family photo-taking session, next up is individual families with our grandmother! And here's my family :D

The so-called "All Cousins" shot, with one of my pregnant cousin and her hubby! She has already gave birth to a cute baby lil girl :)

With mums and bro, I look really short when I stand next to my brother

After which is my maternal side...

We tried to take a photo with my cousin who is still studying in London through skype. A photo within a computer within a photo, okay I don't really know what I am saying but how cool is this~

Didnt take much photos for the next few days

Till the next ~ Thanks for reading xx

Kaohsiung Qishan

A hidden treasure place where hardly any tourists would visit. This place is 旗山, which is at Kaohsiung county.. I guess tourists would probably be interested only the cities area and because it widely promoted. We wanted to go somewhere near but not somewhere we have been before. Since we have already 七七八八 touring around kaohsiung city, we decided to venture out to the county. The place is convenient because there are several buses which go there from kaohsiung city(either at zuoying/kaoshiung main station).

The big and comfy bus~ Just NT50

Some photos taken during the bus ride, pardon for the lousy quality

Reached the Qishan bus interchange~ We transferred to another bus from the interchange to a place called "新威森林公園"(Sinwei Park) and it was a fantastic place for photo-taking! There's a "桃花心木大道" which is a popular spot for couples to take their wedding photos.

Tata here are the photos taken at the place, we spent like 1.5 hours there spamming photos!

This is the popular spot for wedding photos... Too bad I didn't have taken more photos here because I was bitten by the mozzies and was also rushing for the public bus!

The backdrop is beautiful because of its dreamy feel... plus the fallen leaves. Like the korean drama 秋天的童话 I guess I din capture it well enough :(

Last few photos of the place before we head back to Qishan Old Street...

This was not meant to be my pose fyi but somehow I like it~

Perfect place to emo right ( My favourite pic of the day )

Haha but no i am not~

After spending about 2 hours there, we took the shuttle bus back to Qishan and we walked to the old Qishan Train station. To our surprise, there's so many things to see there, especially lots of banana-made products! I have done a bit on research on the town, and found out that Qishan's sandy soil was good for growing bananas and they have made quite a large bit of profit from the Jap who really love their bananas. Hence, banana industries grow as the folks started to put in effort in growing bananas since it was a lucrative business then.

It is now known as the "Banana Pier". I am in love with their banana ice cream sold at this old qishan train station which is converted to a mini stall and museum now. It is really quality ice-cream with strong banana taste, and it costs only a dollar!

This is actually a banana postbox, so cute!! I didnt notice at first

Other banana related products that they are selling:

I didn't know banana can taste so well when they are "cooked" in other forms :)

Postcards that I bought with cute banana stamps *aww*

Behind this train station is a stretch of road with stalls, like a mini night market~ It was already 6 plus by den

We heard that there are several stalls famous for their "当龟鸭" and hence we decided to give it a try at this stall. I am not a big fan of this hence we ordered only a bowl to share :) It was really awesome, especially the duck!! The soup also don't need say...

The rest below was also part of our dinner, didnt eat much because the ice-cream was filling.

This is the banana pancake so special and nice!

This is the popiah skin with peanuts, banana and mint ice-cream inside!

Raw sliced fish..

After this, we headed home! Thats for the day :) Thanks for reading ~
