Seoul Part 4

Annyeonghaseyo~ Finally have the time to sit down and blog. Have been super busy for the last month. August is a crazy month because I had to relief a lot of classes and on top of that, I have to prepare for my first lecture and I had to lecture for 2 weeks. I felt so relieved when Sept is here because of the long awaited 1 week of sept hols :P

Sidetrack a bit... For those who asked, yes I went to 2 countries within my 1 week of Sept hols. One trip to BKK and another to HK. I totally enjoyed myself, did not bother to touch any work (except to mark some scripts on the plane). Although I didn't sleep much because it was kind of rush because after my BKK trip, I had to go school for consultation for the whole day and then the next morning I flew to HK right away, I HAD FUN :D The holiday was well spent and much needed.

Okay, I hope I will have the time to blog on my HK trip after my Seoul trip because I went to a lot of new eating places in HK and I can't wait to share the pics :D

Alright, back to Seoul...

1) Thanks Nature Cafe
Decided to head to Thanks Nature Cafe because I heard that there were sheep, REAL sheep in the cafe. How interesting is that? I don't have to even travel to the outskirts to see sheep?

OMGee "faster faster help me take before the sheep runs away."

The interior, just a simple cosy cafe at the corner of Hongdae.

The friendly owner:)

The waffles selection ^^

Ordered a chocolate lava cake and a waffle to share among the 3 of us!

Overall, ambience over food :)

How to go: Hongik University Exit 8.
Turn right after you come out from the exit and walk straight.
Turn right after you see 6.9% plaza and then cross. Walk straight until you see a 7-11, then cross to the right side of the street and then walk straight till you see H&M. Cross the road to your left and walk straight! Try to spot the cafe name on the wall with all the other shop names! The cafe is just down the stairs :)

Afterwhich I decided to hunt down a hair salon after being told by my friend that there are many hair salons around the area. I have long wanted to have curly hair and I am thinking, since I am going to Korea, why not try out their more high tech salon equipments. Korean actresses always have the best hairdo and fashion sense!

Walked around and saw a lot of hair salons and I decided to google the best hair salon and the results apparently showed "Juno" which I have been seeing this chain hair salon almost everywhere I have been to. Without checking the prices, I headed to the salon since there is 1 outlet at Hongdae.

TADAH! Finished product after sitting still at the salon for 2.5 hrs? I just googled "korean curls" and showed her a picture of what I wanted.

Closer look at my curls. I was quite disappointed at first because I wanted more defined curls which can last me for half and if best, a year. The first and previous time I curled my hair was during my sec 4 perm and it lasted me for 1.5 years! My hair stylist told me my curls can last me for 3 months and I was hoping it could be longer :(

After a few days, the curls seemed to be gone and I was super worried lol. That was probably the FIRST time in my life I did not wash my hair for 2 days consecutively because I don't want my curls to soften lol.

I am so sorry about spamming all my selfies :/

My recent #selfies. This is after 3 months and my hair is going straight very soon T.T. I have been very hardworking, applying mousse to my hair every day after every wash :(

For those who asked, I paid $260 for just perming my hair. The service there is VERY good, the moment I step in, they served me tea and then they helped me to keep my bag in the locker. And while I was sitting there for my curls to be done, they served me snacks as well. I felt like a queen! haha! Ok, so these were the value added services. Idk if they marked up their prices because of that or because they were really famous in Seoul.

But I guess my friend was right in saying that it was worth it because curls in Korea were meant to be loose. From what we see in the streets, most of the ladies had loose curls and probably that is the reason why they don't do more defined curls. So, overall, I still think Juno Hair did a good job!:)

If you are not planning to visit a hair salon, Hongdae is a good place for shopping as well ^^ It is a place for youths to hang out.

Chanced upon this super cheap shop selling denim pants and I was so excited because all the clothes I saw were too expensive :( Like 50 plus and above. So I ended up with only a pair of pants at Hongdae heh.

Oh and not forgetting my hello kitty casing (with a mirror) as well ;)

We went back to Myeongdong after shopping for dinner. Ronald wanted to bring us to a dinner place there which he chanced upon during his last year trip to Seoul with his mum. He said it was a simple eatery selling cheap but tasty local food.

What was on the table... This was probably the cheapest meal we had too. It was a very local eatery but the kimchi fried rice, cheese ramen and dumplings were very tasty!

I cannot remember the directions but it is at one of the streets in Myeongdong and this is the shop!

Time for some desserts ^^ My stomach will always have room for sweet things hehe.

Went to O'sulloc Tea House to try their matcha desserts~ The place is huge with 2 floors and as you can see, it is very cosy!

I loveeee loveee love their matcha ice cream and swiss roll! Matcha lovers cannot miss this out!!

Ok that's all I have for part 4!! Last part will be up soon ^^

xoxo
