R9 Cafe Taipei

My last update was on Taipei part 5, okay I know there's a lot of parts to it but I am so lazy to have a long blog post and squeeze everything tgt!

Gona blog about R9 Cafe in Taipei and continue my part 6.... very soon! :P

I really would like to intro this cafe to friends that are looking for sweet treats in Taipei :D Previously I had a post on Dazzling Cafe in Taipei, if you have not read it....

http://katechiclove.blogspot.com/2013/07/taipei-part-1-dazzling-cafe.html

Anw, this 2 cafes are the popular ones in Taipei and there's always a long queue for it! They are both known for their honey toast ^^ And of cos, you can try their other desserts as well, I guess it would be thumbs up too :)

It was a lazy day for me, hence I wanted to just spend a few hours in a cafe and R9 came into my mind. I waited for half an hour because I did not make a reservation D:

Bored and taking #OOTD This off-shoulder top is fabulous!! The paddle-pop colors made me more cheerful for that day (although it doesn't seem so in this pic) haha

Love the color to bits!

I ordered a healthy drink, kiwi fruit juice!

Iced Caramel macchiato, I prefer this though

And our Tutty Fruitty honey toast *foodgasm*

Macarons! And oreo ice-cream~

This is making me hungry :O

Oh, and did I mention, I really love my blog layout now :D

Taipei Part 5

Was tired of shopping and wanted to do some sight-seeing. But on a hot day, the National Palace Museum is perfect :)

It is a world-known museum which exhibits Chinese significant treasures. They have professional guided tours and the exterior of the museum made me go.... wowwwww!

These are the only 2 photos I have...because I was so blur, I brought my camera and forgot about the memory card D: Not the first time...

After spending 2 hours in the museum, we went to Zhishan Garden which was just beside the museum~ Perfect place to take a stroll in the evening. Good scenery and 4 of us sat down at the pavilion and chatted for more than an hour before dinner.

The garden is built in a traditional chinese way, similar to the Song and Ming dynasties! Very poetic and literature feel~

Totally in love with this garden because I felt so relax and at peace there haha!

Happy long weekend all :D xx

Taipei Part 4: Ximending, Wufenpu, Raohe

We don't usually wake up that early for breakfast, hence we would usually head out straight for lunch and the after-activities.

We settled our lunch at one of the ramen shops at Ximending.

Both the ramen and the fried rice tasted very bland and it was one of the worst restaurant food I have eaten!

After lunch we went to see Yen-J! He was going to be at Ximending for his autograph session. Ximending is a place where artistes frequently hold their events there and you can easily spot taiwan singers ^^

A large crowd was queuing for his autograph session

Drove a sports car here. And his face is like flawless~

I am not a big fan of him, but just excited to see him in real life to see how handsome he is HAHA

After which we went to my usual shopping place, Wufenpu(wholesale shopping) and I was surprised that I did not buy any stuff. I was prolly in a saving mood that day :D

It was a usual routine, after Wufenpu we would head to Rao He Night Market which is just <10 mins walk from Wufenpu. I LOVVVEEEE the food there, and it's my favorite night market for food! You can do your shopping there but Shida would be a better choice :)

Pan-fried dumplings are sold in most of the night markets in Taiwan and it's extremely cheaaaapp! In Singapore, a plate of dumplings can easily cost up to $5-10 but here is only like $1-2!!

Fried ice-cream

Chicken sausages

The BOMB of Raohe night market was their fried yam ball with salted egg yolk inside!! I was so excited I forgot to take a picture of it!! But you can totally imagine it's like salted egg yolk custard bun, just that bun is replaced with yam ball. It's quite a new creation and I haven't see any places having it yet! I am missing it already D:

That's all for the day!

Taipei Part 3: Jiaoxi

Jiaoxi is in Yilan also, and we took the railway from yilan to jiaoxi (probably 10 mins?) after visiting the Jimmy's Garden(previous post). Jiaoxi is a popular tourist destination for its hot spring.

I have never been to a hot spring before and I was dying to go one in Jiaoxi. There are so many hot springs as you walk down the street of Jiaoxi after you arrive at the train station, I guess the services they offer should be around the same? And usually there is no time limit for the hot spring, you can stay there for as long as you want!

Jiaoxi railway station, reached!

RANDOM

Jiaoxi really looks like a place for hotsprings yeah?

We came to this public hot spring place, and it's free for the public to soak your legs in the extremeeeeely hot water. It is said to be good for blood circulation and the water is really hot!! You can try soaking your legs 3 times, 15 minutes each to improve your blood circulation(told by the locals there).

I was more interested in the fish bite therapy as I have never tried it before. It costs only SGD$4 and there is no time limit~ You can sit here the whole day and get your dead skin cells removed :P It was really itchy at first!

It was a pity that we didn't go for the body spa because we were running out of time D: Oh well.... Next time den!
