The Lone Ranger 2013, Don't miss it!

What's worth waiting for in July?

THE LONE RANGER!

One big reason to catch Disney’s latest offering ‘Lone Ranger’!- Johnny Depp! Almost no one can pull off these eccentric roles as convincingly as Johnny Depp does. This time, Depp ditches his pirate gear for the role of Tonto, an American spirit warrior who teams up with ‘The Lone Ranger’ (Arnie Hammer) for a battle against greed and corruption.

Watch the teaser trailer and you’ll see that Depp retains his signature brand of eccentricity and dialogue for his role as Tonto. For me, The Lone Ranger looks like a great combination of action, adventure and humour. Also, Arnie Hammer's really hot too! The last time I saw him in a movie was in The Social Network where he played the role(s) of the Winklevoss twins!

Moreover, The Lone Ranger is brought to us by the same filmmaking team of The Pirates of Caribbean trilogy. Can't wait to catch it! Open in cinemas on July 4th!

Catch the TRAILER here to catch a glimpse of The Lone Ranger! (and Johnny Depp :P)

Catch Disney’s “The Lone Ranger” in Singapore cinemas this 4 July 2013! For more updates, like the Official Walt Disney Studios Singapore Facebook Page, follow @disneystudiosSG and subscribe to the Official Disney Studios Singapore YouTube Channel!

What are you waiting for? Keep yourselves entertained this coming July :D

Night market in Tainan, what to eat??

Spent a good 2D1N in Tainan as our local friend invited us to his house for a stay. It's my 5th time in Tainan but I enjoyed myself the most this time because of good company :D There were 6 of us, 3 taiwanese, 1 from china, plus me and Alf. It was so much comforting to travel around with bikes and being fetched by the locals rather than cabbing here and there.

We spent our first night at 大東夜市

Just look at the background and you would see how REALLY crowded the night market is on a friday night in Tainan~ There are mainly two very big night markets in Tainan, namely Dadong and Huayuan night market and they are also considered the biggest night markets in Taiwan, besides Fengchia Night market in Taichung city.

Some of my favourite food that I will definitely eat when I am there...

大肠包小肠 If you directly translate it to english, it would be misinterpreted as "Big intestine wrap small intestine" and many people will tend to avoid this since the name is quite turn-off ~ But the fact is, it's not! It is actually a pork sausage wrapped in glutinous rice sausage. Taiwan's speciality, don't miss it :P

Kimchi with pork fried rice dumpling, crispy on the outside with filling inside :D There are many different flavors to choose from, but I still prefer kimchi heh

原住民烤肉 ( Taiwan Aborigine roast pork ) MUST-EAT! It's marinated very well and I can't find any BBQ/roasted pork better than this :D

Chocolate banana pancake *whoooop* There are so many flavors too, I love the yogurt flavor that my friend bought the most!

A night market that has everything, and can even fit in a children's ride! Hahah

Was too crowded and thus I didn't bother to take all the food that we have eaten that night. And the rest of the night was spent playing mahjong and chit-chatting till 3+ am! So many things to talk about when we only know each other for only a month??

Shall blog about Tainan Day 2 soon xD Have to focus on my finals now, yes my very very and really FINALS exams and I will graduate soon! Although I can't bear to leave here at all D:

Oh well...

Till the next! xx

Korean hotpot dinner

Three little pigs had a dinner date at this SUPER good korean hotpot restaurant ystd and according to my friend, she has been wanting to eat this restaurant since this year January as many people are raving about it~ I love this Taiwanese friend of mine cos she simply knows where to go for nice food and ever since I know her, I have been pigging out almost everyday :P

I went to googled for this restaurant and the first link that I saw was people waiting 3 hours to get a table :O We were more lucky though, waited an hour( reservation not allowed for dinner ) for a weekday dinner... Can't imagine how long have to wait on weekends!

Details :D

Korea Dubu House 淨豆腐韓式料理 (kaohsiung)
Tel No:07-221-5665 (Reservations for lunch)
Address:高雄市前金區中華四路352號(近捷運中央公園站,central park MRT)
Opening hours:Lunch 11:30~14:30 Dinner 17:30~22:00

We were too hungry and finished all these appetizers within a few minutes~

The 3 lil hungry pigs. Looks super .... w/o makeup

They only sell hotpot and their ingredients are flown from Korea, hence the much steeper prices.

All of us ordered the same thing: Cheese hotpot with pork and tofu (NT270, No service charge)

Really love the soup broth with cheese~ And I finished the whole soup although I am not a soup lover. So tasty omgzzz... We were all like telling each other "好好吃“ after our first mouth :p

Other soup base include curry, kimchi and the original ones.

And their rice is also served in the hotpot which makes it slightly crispy and to also keep the rice warm while we take our time to eat it~ Their rice is so chewy and the smell of it is fragrant from far~~

Ordered another fried pork pancake to share and oh man, thumbs up for this ^^

We finished this before our mains and this is the best pancake I've eaten so far compared to the many good ones I have always eaten in other korean restaurants *omnomnomnom*

Busy camwhoring~

My taiwanese friend's signature pose. She asked us to pose like that but apparently we failed and it was too ugly to be uploaded haha

This picture sums it all for the night and for the food :D

Thai food cuisine in Taiwan

The best thai food I have eaten in Taiwan so far is ”瓦城“(Thai Town Cuisine). I have went to several thai food restaurants here but there aren't many that I would consider to visit a second time. But Thai town cuisine is one that I would :D

Their service is E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T and for around SGD$20(if you are dining in pairs;the more the cheaper) you will get a very good meal! I went there twice, and both times are with my uncle when he came to visit me. He's a big fan of thai food and seafood :)

What we ordered

ah... I love their 月亮虾饼 <3

There is 冬粉 hidden below the prawns and they always go well when fried with prawns

My uncle's favorite is this pandan chicken~ Their portion is very generous heh

*Dessert time* Honeydew sago~ They have a lot of other desserts with coconut milk that is superbbbbbb toooo :P

Mad love my Katrina that takes very nice photos now :DD

Here's the link if you want to know where the outlets are located. They have stores all over Taiwan, should be easy to find :D

Cijin Island

Had a 'random' met-up with Jiahui in kaohsiung on Wednesday and its RANDOM because we have never met up in SG before. Just hi-bye friends in secondary school but it was an enjoyable day spent with her and her parents :)

Initially, we planned to meet up for desserts nearby my house but her father was craving for seafood after that, hence I brought them to Cijin Island. We took a 5 min ferry ride over (the pier was also just nearby).

Directions: Take Kaohsiung MRT to SiZhiWan station, walk about 15 mins to Gushan ferry pier, and wait at most 10 mins for a 5min ferry ride. There will be a ferry every 5 mins, so it's actually very fast and convenient :) It would be advisable to rent a bicycle near the MRT station as you can then cycle it onto the ferry which brings you to Cijin(旗津). With a bicycle, you can slowly explore the many little attractions in cijin which includes Cihou lighthouse, Seashore park, Windpower park, Tianhou Temple.....and many more!

I've mentioned Cijin island in one of my first few posts that it is known for their seafood but I did not take any photos the last few times I was there, so now finally I have some photos to share :D

We walked past many stalls, but decided to settle for this restaurant. Its along the seafood street, a short walk from the pier only! There are many restaurants and I think most of them are pretty decent.

My hair color now.. Still red-ish :D whoooops pardon from the sidetrack:/

We didn't wait very long for the food and TADAH! Here are all what we have ordered :>

I love this the most! Fried mussel~ So big and chewy hahah

The fish is also very delicious and fresh, only like NT380? And it's the most expensive dish already!

The total bill adds up to only near SGD$50! Plus crab somemore, really considered cheap for 5 people right :P Freshest seafood I've eaten!

We walked to the sea after dinner to digest our food and the view was so gooooooood! It's only the beginning of last year that I begin to learn how to appreciate nature and scenery, but still not too late right? :D

Jiahui brought her polaroid along, we were so happy that the background of the polaroid was captured v well :D

Isn't Cijin island beautiful?
