Cafe: Saveur

Hello! I have been neglecting this space so much lately. I am so busy with work lately that I hardly have any personal time left D:

However, no matter how busy I am, I will reward myself with a good meal(especially during the weekend). Last weekend I decided to pay a visit to Saveur because so many of my friends have told me about this place. They recommended this cafe mainly because of its pocket friendly prices.

I have upsized the pasta because it was supposed to be an appetizer and the portion would not be enough if I did not upsize. It cost only $6.90 (exclusive tax) after you upsize! Reasonable right?

The food is pretty decent. I love their Duck confit and how it goes so well with the mash potatoes. I love their salted caramel lava cake more! I am a big fan of desserts and this lava cake really didn't disappoint me. I had many chocolate lava cakes but it was my first time having a salted caramel one. It's a bit sweet but overall I really love it!

Wore out Love Bonito's Clarisse Dress! It is so comfy and it looks nicer with no belt :) I am always in blue nowadays, even my nails are blue! I wonder if it's because I am having monday blues almost every day :(

I need to update this space more often! Back to lesson plans now!

Taipei Part 1: Dazzling Cafe

Day 1 was spent at Dazzling Cafe, a very popular cafe for the locals and tourists to have their afternoon tea. The best honey toast in Taiwan would be here!!

They have several outlets all over Taiwan which you can find in their facebook page. Each outlet has their own theme. I went to the outlet at Zhongxiao. It's a pity I didn't take enough photos of the interior of the very classy cafe because I was too hungry, lunch-ing at 3pm :O We have made a reservation 3 days in advance and were considered lucky to have seats. My taiwanese friends told me that the cafe is so popular, that sometimes you have to make a reservation weeks in advance. o.m.g

I ordered a honey toast and it really didn't disappoint me ^^ It was 3pm by then so I didn't order their mains, leaving my stomach for dinner :P

It actually looks smaller here. It is quite filling and perfect for 3 peeople to share! This is SOOOOO goooood.

They have a minimum spending of 1 drink per person regardless of what you order.

My ice matcha au latte. Love the creamy matcha taste :D

My friend's mango drink. It was only available during the summer season when it is the harvesting time for mangos.

Check out their fb page(Dazzling Cafe) and I am sure you will see more mouth-watering honey toasts! Will definitely go again on my next trip :P

We took the railway from Taipei Main Station to Keelung night market after this and I will update more on the night market in my next few posts!

Honey toast ^^

Just got all my last semester results and I am proud that I have graduated officially!~

I am really happy for myself and for my friends who have struggled and studied hard for the 84734696394 number of tests and exams that we had.

On the day that I ended my last paper, I knew I had to celebrate with a good dinner and I simply enjoyed myself that night with a perfectttt one ^^

I was craving for honey toast after hearing my Taiwanese's friends raving about it~ Hence, I went to check out on this restaurant in Kaohsiung which appeared on the first few results on my google search for honey toast hahaha.

I was only waiting for my honey toast but we still ordered the dinner set since we had to fill our stomachs with mains first :)

Looks so appetizing rightttt !

My aglio olio but the taste is mehhhh~~

And TATA~ this is my Tiramisu honey toast :D

My makeup-less face

After spamming photos of the honey toast, the waitress came to cut the toast and this is what is inside the toast!!

Love those sugar coated bread sticks that were hiding inside the toast. Dip it with the ice-cream, custard and eat with the fruits and the taste will be awesome! :P

Can't wait to intro you guys the honey toast I ate in Taipei soon!

Getting older. Twenty-three

Had my 23rd birthday earlier this year(end feb) and there's so many friends I have to be thankful for :>

Celebration+meet up with my squashie gang at Antoinette. Twinnie help to book the restaurant because she knows I haven't been there and I wanted to try their brunch and desserts(macarons esp) :p

Some of the photos taken at the beautiful setting of the restaurant! So lucky that we have the whole indoor area to ourselves, and we spammed quite a lot of photos there!

Our main courses. In love with Huimin's aglio olio after the first taste! I had their breakfast set though

My twinnie and my birthday was v close to one another, hence the cake was meant for us to blow tgt :P

I totally love their rich chocolate cake, Antoinette. Plus we managed to try most of their macarons' flavor since we are in a big grp... I like salted caramel the most! I will definitely go back for their desserts again ;p

Tata~ Our group photo

Previously I had a personal date with twinnie, it was our first meet up in 2013 and she said we only met up <5 times in 2012! haha. She suggested lunch @Table Manners and we enjoyed our quiet time since there were not much people in the cafe~ As usual, we took a lot of polaroids and it turned out pretty well :)

Thanks for the lovely handmade-card<3 I really suck at anything that has to do with art but I love receiving hand-made cards :>

I met up with my bff, Yiquan and she surprised me with pretty nail polishes! She texted me and asked what were my favorite colors and I didn't know it was for this purpose. Sneaky girl heh

The Las Vegas keychain was a souvenir from her as she went there last year and I love souvenirs like these <3 Just before the day I left, I managed to have an impromptu meet up with Hui yu for a short lunch at Tampines. We always settle our lunch at pizza hut cos I love their student set menus and their chocolate molten cake~ I didn't expect to receive this beautiful handphone cover from her too :))

Took some polaroids at some ugly background cos we were rushing off.

I wanted to meet yingqi on that day but decided not to cos I was flying off that day and she stays at Jurong so its quite difficult to meet up. But she last minute texted me and asked me to wait for her at tamp while she rushed down to meet me, with ALL THESE THINGS!

Thanks girl for coming all the way down just to pass me the gifts. AND I really love the chocolate truffles by awfully chocolate, their dark chocolates are awesome and it melts in your mouth! It's not that sweet too hence I could still finish everything up:D

I spent the actual day of my birthday with my family in Taichung this year. It was really special because we were enjoying ourselves overseas which we hardly get to do so. Alf bought me a hello kitty tart knowing that I am a big fan of hello kitty :)

To all of you: Thanks for taking your precious time to spend my birthday with me and making the effort to ask me out and buying me gifts <3 And to some of my close friends who have remembered and wished me through texts because I have removed the birthday reminder on fb and it would not be an easy task remembering your friend's birthday:P I will be very contented even if it is just a simple meal together. xoxo

HK Day 1

We have decided to go to HK during our spring break in NSYSU and it was my first time there. We reached in the late afternoon at about 4pm and we were so tired as we took a midnight flight from singapore to taipei and then another flight from taipei to hk, all in the same day. So tired till I "unglaming-ly" slept in the airport seats for a few hours while waiting for our flight to hk.

We were supposed to stay in one of the hotels located in Chung King Mansion along Nathan road in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) BUT after what yushu has told me about the place, I immediately went to cancel my stay in the hotel. We did not really pay much attention to the reviews when we went to book it, rather we focus on finding hotels which have good locations/near the MTR. Luckily we managed to switch our hotel to Metropark Hotel at Kowloon. Although it was much more expensive, I didnt regret it. I went to check out the Chung King Mansion on the first night and the place were filled with Indians, Pakistanis and Africans men asking you to buy their products(dk if its illegal) and I felt kind of scared and unsafe walking in that mansion. Furthermore, there was free shuttle bus from our hotel to TST and Mongkok(ladies market) almost every half an hour which was really convenient for us :)

Anyway, a big thank you to some of my friends who sent me their HK itineraries and it makes it easier for me to find all the awesome food and shopping places! :) Esp those who even ask their friends for it and then sent to me, tyvm :')

After unpacking, we took the shuttle bus to TST for dinner. We were looking for a restaurant called "Sweet Dynasty" (糖朝)recommended by many people. It is a cantonese restaurant that serves noodles/fried rice/congee, desserts and dim sum.

Food that we ordered!

My favorite dish was this har gow! There was soup inside just like xiaolongbao, so yummy!

This red bean tauhuey was our substitute for the bucket of tauhuey which I heard is supppperrrrr famous here but is so big and expensive(sgd$12) hence we didnt order as we thought we might nt be able to finish it. I am not a big fan of tauhuey but this dessert is just nice for me as the red bean is good and is not very sweet.

Overall, I think their dishes was so-so for the price we paid for it. 5 dishes for Sgd $31... I would only go back for their other desserts which looks really good in the menu :)

After dinner, we walked around TST and this is the infamous Chung King Mansion. But the exterior of the building looks nice though

AND meet my new baby! Big damage on my first night. But I am so happy because I have been looking for this classic necklace design at a lot of places already but it was sold out! I am so lucky this time :>

FYI, I don't use my parents $ or ask my parents for $ to buy branded stuff or pay for my daily expenses for shopping. I haven't been taking allowance from them ever since after A levels? Some girls show off their countless branded stuff but I only admire those who work and have their own ability to buy for it. Unless its a gift.. Cos then its worth showing off to other people right? Hahaa okay #justsaying

*add on* cos some people say I sounded pissed in my last paragraph haha but Im actually not ! :) Its just that I do not want to give people the impression that I spend a lot and I am using my parents' money ;)

Thats all for day 1, thanks for reading xx
